PML Advisory Gathers Accountants, Auditors & Finance Manager for a One Day IFRS Jamboree Event in Ikeja.
PML an advisory services provider with seasoned and experienced professionals with years of hands-on engagements in financial advisory, auditing, risk management & accounting services, held a one day IFRS jamboree for professionals in accounting, auditing and finance industry on Wednesday 22nd October 2014 at the LCCI conference center Alausa ikeja.
The event was well attended by seasoned accountants and auditors. The facilitators of the events comprised of the key executives of PML advisory which includes Abiola Fajimi, Chief Executive Officer, Abdul-wahhab Ibrahim, Executive Director, Adeola Adesanya, Associate Director and Olushola Omotuyi, Senior Consultant. The core focus of the jamboree seminar bothered on key issues on adoption of IFRS (International Financial reporting Standards). The topics of presentation handled by the facilitators included an overview of IFRS and its adoption in Nigeria, lessons learnt from implementing IFRS in over 60 companies, tools and templates that can make IFRS transition easy, how to convert NGAAP financial statement to IFRS Financial statement and managing IFRS reporting post implementation. The Chief Executive Officer stated at the beginning of the event that the IFRS Jamboree 2014 is a corporate social responsibility initiative of the Company and a way of celebrating her 2nd anniversary. He also stressed that the firm is only few years old but the key executives have combined experience from their previous employments in top accounting and auditing firms in Nigeria of over 40 years.
The participating professionals were blown away by the remarkable presentation of the facilitators as they were able to give insight on challenging financial practices as it relates to the IFRS.
One of the beauty of the event was the platform for the participants to network with each other during the launch break, questions & answer sessions and group photograph session.
Abiola Fajimi hinted after ascertaining the opinion of the participants on organizing the event that the IFRS Jamboree event may become a yearly phenomenon.
The IFRS Jamboree 2014 was a huge success and the future of the International financial reporting in Nigeria has just found a new bench mark for continuous improvement.
